I enjoy days with nothing to do even though I don’t like doing nothing.

It occurred to me there is a definite connection between posting nothing and getting likes and comments. Yet, I will not force anything.
If it isn’t here, it isn’t there.

Then I heard a melody that brought back memories of happy days…
“Someone’s knocking at the door, somebody’s ringing the bell”…
I love The Beetles and that is one of my favorites for a special reason, it helped make my wife by marriage what she is today…my Xwife by marriage.
It was a tune she also enjoyed although it troubled her.

I would put it on the victrola amongst a stack of records so it would be the third or fourth to play after she was already dispirited and melancholy from the previous selections.

It was beautiful. I did not have to say a word. I just sat and watched and let nature do its thing.

When the verse played, “Do me a favor, Open the door and let them in,” she got up and went to the front door.

When she returned with a dumbfounded look on her face and I asked what was word she would say, “There’s nobody there?”

I would say, “That’s a good little ditty. Let’s hear it again.”

It played again and she went to the door again…and again and again.

She would ask if I heard the knocking or somebody ringing the bell?

I would answer, “Sure!”

She would say, “Then why didn’t you answer it?”

“It wasn’t my turn.”

“We’re taking turns now?”

“Sure, you’re next,” then I’d play it again.



I had her thinking she was deaf for awhile until she wondered if she was deaf how could she hear the music?

I said, “What music?”

It was bloody marvelous!
