There's a new football league!

Hinkly Dinkly On Sports
Stand by for action!
Let the trumpets sound, let the cannonballs sail, let the women wail.
That infamous fury Neanderthal from Punxsutawney, came out of his man cave, saw his mother-in-law, grabbed another case of brewskis, and now there’s Ten More Weeks of Football!

That’s right sports fans there’s a new league in town…The AAF.

Naturally when I saw the AA, my heart fluttered and a tear came to my eye, but they told me it has nothing to do with alcoholics.
My second guess for Alien Abductees was shot down as strike two.
I gave up and was told the new league is, the Alliance of American Football, named after an alliance of some kind?
It consists of eight teams, which will play every weekend, until nobody shows up, or the completion of the ten game schedule, whichever comes first?
There will probably be a championship game at the end depending on the outcome of the previous scenario?
They hope to someday rival the NFL and play a game of champions know as The Super Duper Bowl.
That would be Really Big, but a bit far-fetched unless you’re a real dreamer.

I interviewed a player of no consequence, who preferred to be left anonymous, so I put a bag over his head, which you are probably unaware of except for mumbling.
I asked how he liked the new league?
“Uh?”
What do you think of it?
“Well, it’s kind of like the NFL and college mixed together.”
How so?
“Well, its like college except we’re older, and we don’t get an education, and we’re paid over-the-table.”
I’ve been instructed to delete that last part, but this is already in the mail, so you are instructed to disregard it.
He started to drift, so I quickly asked, I see. How is it like the NFL?
“Well, there are no premo-donnas, we don’t get an education, and there’s no Tom Brady, so everybody gets a chance.”
What do you NOT like about it?
“Well, there’s no kick-offs.”
I noticed that. Why do you suppose that is?
“I dunno? Maybe so they don’t need a kicker?”
Anything else you don’t like?
“Well, Yeah, we don’t have any white uniforms.”
I noticed that. Why do you suppose that is?
“UH, you already asked that question?”
I know, but it was in reference to another question. This is in reference to this question.”
“Uh, what question?”
Why do you suppose there are no white uniforms?
“Uh, I dunno, maybe they’re harder to clean?”
I thanked him for the interview.

This reporter is excited about the new league and hopes everyone gets on the bandwagon so it stays around.
One thing is for sure, it’s better than nothing!

Hinkly Out,

Whoopee! Year-round football; now more of us can retire to our man caves with beer in hand and order pizza and buffalo wings, adding to our beer belly guts and eventual diabetes and incurable heart disease.

It may be about giving the little guy a chance, but I believe it's more like cashing in on the American obsession with the pigskin. If there's money to be made they will build it.

Bye, George,

Ron
