Do your friends pour Hollywood cups of coffee?
Do your friends pour Hollywood cups of coffee?
That’s what I call those half-cups you see poured in movies and TV episodes. It’s an actual viable link between the two venues.
An otherwise untalented individual can jump from the Tele to THE BIG SCREEN solely on their propensity to pour coffee “economically.”
I consider it a sin, and suggest an amendment to the Ten Commandments, “Thou Shall Not Pour A Jewish Cup Of Coffee!”
Ah, that probably will need editing.
I am sure accountants will tell us their penny-pinching has saved thousands of dollars through the years, while Juan Valdez could have been living High Off The Hog!
I watch them! My eyes are trained to beam in on the spout when coffee is poured. It is not simulated. They do pour coffee. But never even enough to be seen in the cup. Watch them yourself and see!
I stand corrected…there once was a woman who poured a decent cup of coffee, but after that film she was never seen or heard of again. Have you ever seen or heard of her?
Several of my friends think they are in Hollywood. They never pour an “HONEST” cup. They say they are saving room for cream and sugar.
“I DON’T USE SUGAR!” I retort, “AND I CERTAINLY AM NOT GOING TO USE THAT MUCH CREAM!”
Why do they do it? I don’t know. Why does anyone do anything? I am sure Doctor Fwad could lye them down on his couch and find out, but who/whom will pay him? Not I, and certainly not the penny-pinching pourers.
Maybe it has something to do with clumsy? It was rumored that John Wayne, while filming The Alamo, spilled a cup of coffee all over Jim Bowie who had to be killed off 4 scenes prior to previously scripted because the visible coffee stains looked like blood.
I suppose it is all up to speculation, but one thing is for sure. It’s a good thing I am not in the movies. If someone poured me one of those cheap ass cups of coffee, I WOULDN’T STAND FOR IT!
And I don’t when my friends do!

You should be talking about real issues like gunfights. Did you ever notice that John Wayne's hearing is so good, that he hears the gun fire in time to duck so that the bullet whizzes past his ear? Sound travels faster than a speeding bullet (like in Superman), doesn't it? Giving John Wayne the upper hand in dispatching all the bad guys who have bad hearing from sitting too close to the speakers in their misspent youth. And the blood is a prop, too. I think. Goats blood from evil satanic rituals.
