Yesterday was not uneventful at Dunkin Donuts. First of all someone had parked in my favorite spot, (Julius likes it too,) Just as we pulled into another, they pulled out.
Oh, the futility.
We knew that if we pulled out of our spot and into theirs someone else would come along and get in the Donut line ahead of us, (Actually Me.)
We had to decide if it was worth the risk?
We decided it wasn’t.
As luck would have it nobody came but I knew Sure As Hell if we had moved someone would have. It’s happened in the past. And they were fat people. I don’t need to tell you what it’s like behind “Them” in a donut line.
They must have been busy in the “early morning rush,” which I try to avoid. Nothing was left. The shelves were just about empty as I neared the register. I could see behind the racks. There were people back there doing all sorts of things but making donuts.
“I’ll have a plan bagel with cream cheese.”
“No plan bagels…only two left.”
I took the multi-grain and left the sesame.
Later I heard them tell someone they were out of English Muffins and Croissants. By God, that covers half of Europe! Why were they even open?
Here’s the sad part. I hate to even mention it.
As I and Julius were about to pull out from a hideous unfamiliar spot where I had no idea where we were, a little car pulled up to the front door. Four fat people emerged and blocked the sun. It was like clowns in the circus with that little car.
They walked briskly through the front door with anxiety and apprehension, unaware that their little fat hearts were about to be broken.

Since when do we have to plan our bagels. I take mine plain and abhor cream cheese over butter. Nicely toasted.
Park right next time and you won't be left behind. Without croissants or English muffins.
