Working late can be a bad thing.
Professor Ambrose Penwose, Kiwi
The Shadow Knows
I was working in the lab late one night, when I realized it was time to be heading home. Everybody had left The University except for myself. I had an eerie feeling as I walked through the dimly lit corridors as though I was being followed.
I don’t know what made me do it, but I turned quickly just in time to see my shadow coming at me with a knife. Fortunately there was a light switch nearby and I flicked it on in time to kill the shadow with its brilliance, before it did the same to me.
I was mortified! Expletives flowed freely as I realized how close I had come to The Grim Reaper, and he to me.
I had never heard of such a thing? There were rumored reports smuggled out of ghoulish Eastern European medieval countries of similar things, but nothing from North America, making me a “Unique Fellow,” candidate, if I cared to go public with it, which I did not.
I took the matter to Dr. Fwad. He said there were deep dark concerns in my deep dark medulla oblongata that had to be scrutinized, but the fifth fairway was no place for such things, and he did not have the time.
I was struck in the head with a golf ball just as someone yelled “Four,” which I wondered what for?
He suggested I go quickly to one of the Quick-Care Psycho Clinics that were springing up all over town.
I told him I did not have time for that.
He advised me to avoid shadows.
I told him that goes without saying.
He said he said it anyway.
I realized that avoiding shadows was easy and I could do it without being analyzed any more than normal.
Now I walk around in complete darkness or overly abundant lighting. Neither allows shadows, but I fear both are making me blind.
To my readers I offer this warning…
Do not let your shadow sneak up on you.

OMG! Too much light can kill you like a shadow! Guess I'll have to watch out for both coming from all directions. A cancer is a terrible thing to waste.
Bye, George,
