That makes three.
Professor Ambrose Penwose, Kiwi
How many times can a mutiny mutiny before the British catch on?
It was refreshing to see one of the previous Mutiny on the Bounty episodes broadcast on network TV tonight. I was beginning to feel that “Bounty” was a bit overshown and the Mutiny part was taken over by ye and we who must watch it. It is nice to see fresh faces even though they are quite a bit older.
This appears to be the 3rd time (CHARM!) that Hollywood has gathered a robust crew, with able officers, and saddled them with a dastardly Captain, destined to be overthrown. Actually the last time was the third and the time before that the second, which is this one. The scenes from Tahiti are filmed on the same island, only on the other side, which occasionally causes confusion for re-shoots, but some shots can be “borrowed” from the others if nobody looks too close.
The breadfruit for each version had to be rebaked.
Sink Me! I seem to have come across a distasteful fellow. At first I scolded him severely for speaking so in depth about the movie he was supposed to comment on, then I see it was my mistake as he was in fact giving a review. Why it was saved through the years I’ll never know? All of his intent went to put down the film.
Critics are those who cannot produce… or write, or create, or envision, or dream or anything other than criticize. We read their works and get nothing from them. I was surprised to see a reference to them in The Devil’s Dictionary, yet there it was for all to see…CRITIC, n. A person who boasts himself hard to please because nobody tries to please him.
I believe the fellow who wrote that critique softened the blow.
I do not normally cotton to critics and read that one by mistake. I’ve surgically removed everything negative and remain holding the title page. Obviously there is more to it than that and I will be aboard the bounty tonight to experience it with them.
I was wondering…Do you think there will ever be another?

Saw that version much later on TV… And probably, the other two. White man's dream. Run off to Polynesia and hang around with native girls, totally unemployed eating breadfruit.
In answer to your question? Because young people buy theater tickets. They don't remember or know anything about the other versions. So the new version must be brought up to date, scarier, more adventurous, and more ridiculous, with actors that the young crowd know. Sure to be a bigger box office hit than any of the versions before. Why waste a good story when you can rehash it over and over again. Hell, the other day I saw them doing Eval Knievel over again. Only this time they should have hired that actor, Donald Trump, because he's the only one that can bullshit like Eval could.
