It would seem to the ordinary normal citizens that anyone educated would have long since dropped the Idiot moniker, but alas that is not always the case irregardless of what you may think.

That’s right! I said Irregardless!

A word I used to use in jest to perturb my educated wife in ways similar to saying omnibus instead of ominous, and using my salad fork without a salad.
“Look at those Omnibus clouds,” usually got me a night of sleeping on the couch, which was more of a delight than I ever let her know.

She was always quick to retort, “Irregardless is not a word!”

I believed her, and therefore used it more than a little bit.

Yes, I believed her! For all these years I believed her! I used the word to spite her, To irritate her, To drive her crazy…It worked!

Now I find she was wrong! Irregardless IS a word. It’s in dictionaries. It is said to be improper to speak it in public conversation, but it is a word.

It means exactly the same as regardless, but it still has the somewhat humorous distinction of being known as a word that does not exist, yet does. Therefore I will use it exclusively and never say regardless again. Why should I?

And that’s the name of that tune…Irregardless of what you think.

OMG! I just proofread this. Spellchecker says that Irregardless is spelled wrong and suggests Regardless.
I never realized the program was such an idiot?
