I went to the dictionary and found neither to have a definition. They are both derivatives of words without sion or tion. I looked up those words and found…
Persuade
to prevail on (a person) to do something, as by advising or urging.
Manipulate
to manage or influence skillfully, especially in an unfair manner.

Therefore…
Persuasion; is when I get you do something for me.
Manipulation; is when I bamboozle you to do something for me.
The key words being, “Do something for me.”

bamboozle
to deceive or get the better of (someone) by trickery, flattery, or the like.

Both come out the same and agreeable, as long as you, do something for me.

Either can be avoided simply by asking, “What can I do for you?”
