While others cram, my students go fishing.

Headline
Why Forgetting Actually Helps You Learn, According to a Cognitive Psychologist

“College students are notorious for cramming. They'll stay up late and study for final exams, stuffing weeks and even months of material into their brain just so they can spit it out the next day on the test.”

Not my students, I taught them how to be smart simply by forgetting they were stupid. While others cram, they go fishing.

Who wants to read a book? What did we learn by “Observing” Tom Sawyer trick his friends into white washing a fence? That is possibly where those with political aspirations learned how to “White wash.”
Not my cup of tea.

“Learning how to learn is a skill in itself, and it's one that is not really well understood, nor deliberately taught in school.”

If learning is not deliberately taught in school, then if you should learn something it would be by accident.

“A Daily Habit of Reading Books Should Be Your Priority, According to Science”…however for some strange reason they do not recommend science books?

True unrelated fact…
If Einstein would have eaten bagels as a kid he would have done better in school.

“Reading fiction helps you be more open-minded.”
I will open your mind like a skilled surgeon.
“Reading protects against cognitive decline.”
I don’t even know what that is?
“Reading is a habit held by successful people.”
Not me.

“Twenty six percent of adults in the United States have not read even a portion of a book within the last year. It's an unfortunate reality considering that researchers have found that consuming the written word is exceptionally good for people.”

You my friends have achieved a fortunate reality over the unfortunate one simply by reading my almost daily articles. In effect through the passing years you have read dozens of books page by page, acquiring wisdom previously unknown to mankind, without even realizing it.

You have gained a healthy quantity of knowledge. In effect I have transferred what I know, to what you know.

The only problem being most of it is utterly useless drivel.

No need to thank me.

Penwose Out,

Another headline I do not have time for today…
“Jenny Odell on WHY WE NEED TO LEARN TO DO NOTHING”
I can teach you that!
