I waited all weekend
Mr. Irrelevant
I sat at home all weekend waiting for a call that never came, (not unlike every year previously.)
I had my faithful family of mannequins dusted and propped before the phone and the tele, waiting to exhilarate, all in vane.
The network camera crews once again failed to show up, without so much as a courtesy phone call.
To be honest I am glad they did not call actually, because I would have thought it was the NFL and had a heart attack, like I did the year my Old Aunt Minnie called.
The 2020 NFL Draft is over…No Calls For Me!
They say the last guy to be chosen is referred to as Mr. Irrelevant.
Make no mistake about it…I am Mr. Irrelevant…ask anybody.
I’ve been Mr. Irrelevant ever since I first became eligible over fifty years ago. Each year I sit at my combine, where I can harvest more acres than any other college kid, but the scouts never show up.
My speed and agility are unequaled. My vertical leap is unmeasurable, yet better than that Teeter guy.
My prowess for getting to the quarterback is disheartening, and my ability to return kicks is almost legendary.
As far as I know I am the only college professor declaring himself eligible for the NFL Draft, so it behooves me to even venture a guess as to why it is taking so long?
I am quite sure I will be chosen in the first round if they ever reinstitute The Military Draft.
Penwose, (Mr. Irrelevant) Out,
By George
