Little known fact…He became a Muslim.
His new name was…Karem….of Wheat.
That was told to me years ago by my cousin Gary.
I have not eaten Cream of Wheat since then…until today.
I bought a box back in the days of empty shelves, along with Oatmeal. Those were all I could find. They were stacked on a lonesome shelf where toilet paper should have been.
Obviously I thought of the joke at breakfast.
The contents of the little packet did not look like much in the bowl, so I threw in a dollar and made Buck Wheat…which again took me to the joke.
It is rare, if not often, that a joke has two key ingredients.
For those emotionally and humorously handicapped, “Buck,” is what Cool Guys like Me call a dollar.
So I’ve been eating oats and wheat. If someone comes up with a cereal made out of hay, I may start hanging out in the corral.
That famous perfume, Corral No.5. Use got me with the buck… Got past me. So I didn't pass it up. If you search the shelves way back where nobody goes, you'll find buckwheat pancakes! Probably the tastiest pancakes this side of OK Corral. Flapjacks by the stack.
Don'cha know that Cream of Wheat is the heart of the wheat, bleached, with no nutritional value except starch and sugar added. If it weren't for milk, not recommended for adult consumption, there would be no nutrients and all!
