It is all psychological
Psychology 1.01
It has been brought to my attention, by those who do such things, that I have been remiss at putting decimal points where they need to be in my headlines.
Please look to the above for proper placement and amend any copies you may have of postings previous.
All courses at The University are given a ONE by default…the rest of the equation is earned.
Long ago before computers there were things called books, that students learned form.
Since it is in the past, we will talk about that later.
I never cease to admire myself for keeping things in chronological order.
If something is psychological, as a fair amount of things are, then we must say, that they are logical…in a psycho fashion.
We can use that in our favor to disparage those pretentious colleagues who act elite by referring to everything they say as psychological, without them even knowing they were made a fool.
“Oh that is absolutely psychological!”…booby says smile.
I refer often to psychology and philosophy on an irregular basis, yet that can easily be reversed.
They have absolutely nothing to do with each other other than their pronunciation. Philosophy sounds like it begins with an F, whereas Psychology sounds like it begins with an S.
The reason for Philosophy is obvious, it just would not look right spelled with an F…Fhilosophy.
Psychology is another matter entirely.
It came about in the early days of The Age of Enlightenment, when everything was enlightened.
Books were yet to be and things were carved into slabs of whatever was handy by cloistered monks, who stamped the “Pages” onto whatever else was handy.
It was around this time that the first Toilet Paper Shortage came to be.
They were not allowed to talk so when the pages flew about in the wind they could get no assistance.
Obviously the pages needed to be organized.
In those days a person was named after what he did for a living, folks like Stanley BAKER, Tom TINKER, William CARVER, Joe DRIFTER, and
Robert Haberdasherologist, who later shortened his name to…
Bob Haberdasherologist.
The monks relied on their faith and searched for a person who could read lips to organize their pages, till one day a humble being named Wendell Bookbinder, knocked on their door questioning his own existence.
The monks smiled and everything seemed to fall into place.
As new words were pouring in on a daily basis, they soon found need for a reference work to explain what each word was…thus The Dictionary was unearthed.
Dictionaries could not keep up with the influx and new versions were quickly obsolete, which they didn’t even realize because “obsolete” was still unknown.
Soon psychology came around, spelled as it sounds, sychology.
It looked acceptable, however there were many words already beginning with S, leaving dictionaries unbalanced
They looked for other venues.
P was prevalent although “prevalent” was yet to be known.
P had words like Potato, Peanut, and Petunia, but nothing of significance.
Therefore Sychology, and all of it’s offspring, were give a P and added to that chapter. Other Ps came later.
It is all quite psychological.
