Wake up class.

Filmed and recorded from actual collegiate class curriculum.

Wake up Class

Let us learn of a few words today, shall we?

These definitions, which seem to pertain to you, come from
The Devil’s Dictionary.

IDIOT, n. (Yes, they had them back then.) A member of a large and powerful tribe whose influence in human affairs has always been dominant and controlling. The Idiot's activity is not confined to any special field of thought or action, but "pervades and regulates the whole." He has the last word in everything.

Be it known, In this class, I always have the last word.

IGNORAMUS, n. A person unacquainted with certain kinds of knowledge familiar to yourself, and having certain other kinds that you know nothing about.

If you know what is meant by this definition it does not pertain to you, however I see by your faces it does.

IMMIGRANT, n. An unenlightened person who thinks one country better than another.

Usually they see the folly of their folly when they step off the boat.

That’s enough for today. You may go back to sleep till the bell rings.

Penwose Out,

The devil is in the details and the details are in the dictionary. Inattention in class required a suitable punishment. Rewrite a page in the dictionary. While it took forever and took another forever to get all those little squiggly marks, etc. right, the whole tedious process amounted to not reading any of it or learning any of the words on that page. So be it. Go back to sleep.

Bye, George,

Ron
