I like it!
When considering my teachings at The University I have often thought of wit, or the lack of it. Referring to the students I would have to say,
“We must have wit if we are to knit, (NitWit.)
Ambrose Bierce, author of The Devil’s Dictionary, my only source for True Meanings, defines Wit as…
WIT, n. The salt with which the American humorist spoils his intellectual cookery by leaving it out.
What a profound definitive!
My health requires as much of a salt free diet as possible, yet my writings are hoped more than a little bit abundant with it.
In yet another effort to market my manuscript, I have sought a title other than HOW THE WEST WAS LOST, to make it appear rewritten, without rewriting it.
Nothing thought of comes close to the present moniker which I have long applauded, however my unconscious mind kept turning.
I have always been fond of the title,
“Something Wicked This Way Comes,”
However it needed to be salted with wit.
Many words were considered and rejected, until an image of my favorite duck, Daffy, came to mind.
With it, my new title for redeployment to producers…
“Something Despicable This Way Comes.”
I like it!
Producers and Agents need not not reply.
