We are attacked by Space aliens. Everyone runs amuck. Nobody wears masks. Trump wins the election, (Just kidding.) Education becomes irrelevant. It’s the end of the world. People are jumping.
Then we find out it’s not an attack. It’s a friendly visit. The aliens are excavators similar to our space ships that never existed from Star Trek, only they are real. They are searching through the galaxy for dirt.
Dirt that is rare on their planet and as valuable as gold is on ours, and as plentiful and worthless as dirt is to us. They need no gold, and we need no dirt.
An exclusive contract is drawn up and we start exchanging dirt for gold with each thinking they had outsmarted the other. Naturally The Russians find out and want a piece of the action. We tell them “Nyet.” They start World War Twelve, which is a bit of a hassle since World War Eleven is still in progress.
We hand them over to our “New Friends,” from space who annihilate them like bugs. We make slaves of the survivors and find they are lousy workers and not worth the cost of shipping and handling them here. We eventually work out a deal for free shipping.
Meanwhile back in space…huge tanker space ships are waving at one another as they pass by in the night in opposite directions laden with gold and dirt, each snickering and holding back outlandish laughter.
There is room for other things here before we reach the end? Maybe a child cries as they take away the dirt he/she is playing in?…or something else?
The end
The aliens are humongously happy and driveling in dirt. We teach them how to make mud, but they have to go to other planets for water.
On Earth, we are bathing in gold, or at least we would be if it were batheable.
Gold is everywhere…but the dirt is gone, so we have no place to put it?
