Did Trump Plaza used to be called Trump Tower?
My memory of Trump Tower is single edged.
Years ago I was there with two other tour bus drivers.
Atlantic City Sucked. They didn’t luck buses even though we brought them people. We had to park in a Bus Lot twenty miles out of town.
Anyway the three of us were having a highly overpriced lunch at the tower. One of the guys said, “Look at that old lady!” and pointed to an old lady.
She sat at a table oblivious to our stares. On the table was a beaker of pickles. She would methodically open her purse and put in a pickle as though it were the thing to do.
We Watched!
Eventually the beaker was barren. She flagged a waitress and requested more pickles. The waitress obliged eventhough the lady had yet to order.
We had nothing better to do, so we watched her pilfer three pickle pots.
She was still going strong when we left.
I’m sure she is dead by now and autopsy coroners marveled at her perfectly preserved pickled innards.
Visited Atlantic City once when it was really run down before there were casinos and Trump investments in stupidity like competing casinos?
As a student with fewer resources, we stopped at a restaurant in a seedy blocks off the boardwalk. There was fish pictured in the window so I ordered fish. I think it was halibut, but the fish was so old that I think it was spoiled. I sampled it anyway, and having an iron stomach in those days, suffer no repercussions. Like Reno, everything in Atlantic City reminded me of better days long gone. Once the crowds leave, so does the charm of the place.
The old lady reminded me of my girlfriend asking for more lemon slices and packets of sugar so she could make lemonade with our free water. She also liked pickles and fried pigskins.
