For Amusement Only

Professor Ambrose Penwose, Kiwi

BOON TO MANKIND

Those of you with “Hang-ups” may find yourselves irregular, while those regular folks who read my articles persistently, find yourselves wondering why?
I should post this phrase with every entry, For Amusement Only.

Forget that for now. You “Regular” readers may have heard this before, because that is when I previously said it, and will also again in the future, so you may hear it again?

What is The Biggest Boon To Mankind?
Hint…it is not computers or those little blue pills, (Although they are a close second,) The pills, not computers.

Forget what you may have heard from those who know less than me.
I for one will never share the opinion of someone dumber than I, and you should follow suite.

WITHOUT A DOUBT…The biggest Boon to Mankind, In The History Of The World, is the Television Remote.
Nothing saves mankind man-hours and leisure-hours in the same setting.

Those of us young enough to remember, “The Good Old Days,” will recollect having to actually get up on our feet from a comfortable couch or chair and actually walk over to the tele, reach down, and turn a knob on The Set, to change a channel.

Parents who were later charged with child abuse, used to give their children, “Changing Duty,” with the child virtually standing next to the TV, until the bulbs blew out, as punishment for being bad, which later day psychologists say there was no such thing.
Proponents of Spare The Rod, argued it was better than beating the children, while the children begged to differ.

Fortunately there were only 3-4 channels then, and I-2 of them were usually “fuzzy.”
Can you imagine today with hundreds of channels? We would be forever up and down.

There will always be strides to benefit mankind one way or the other, but none will come close to the Mankind Benefit of The Remote Control.

Penwose Out,
