We never let him out of the house.

GRAMPS and the Olympics,
My eternal grandfather is one of the last surviving veterans of “The Big One,” as he likes to call it. He was a B17 Bomber Pilot.
They did not wear helmets in those days and we suspect the five times he was shot down had an effect on him.
He claims to be suffering from both Mustard Gas and Agent Orange, which his doctors find unlikely, as both came from different wars.
For the past 20 years he sits around the house in a catatonic stupor,
Until recently…
I’ve noticed a twinkle in his eye as The Olympics are broadcast across the tele. He seems especially excited by the arial views of the city, downtown areas, streets, buildings, harbors, coastlines, and other venues.
He asks for writing material, but we give him no pens, as he tends to get a bit messy. He barely notices the pencil.
He sits feverishly jotting figures in the notepad.
When asked what they mean, he tells us he’s recording strategic locations where we can, “drop bombs on Tokyo.”
Don’t worry, we never let him out of the house…except for those times when he wandered off.
Penwose Out,
By George
