Part 3
Delusions…The Trilogy…Part 3
My Doctor just notified me that my A1C is 6.3, so my diabetes is sort of under control, which literally is a shot in the arm for my Olympic hopes, which are now within my grasp through Archery, which requires no physical fitness, which is good because I don’t have any.
I shall be an Archerist.
When I first heard of Cupid, I developed a justifiable fear of arrows… but I have 3 years to get over that and learn to shoot.
I borrowed a library book that showed me how to make a compound bow out of sticks, and strings, and pulleys.
It was almost easy.
I signed up for Virtual Bow and Arrow Classes and have already shot a hole in my tele.
I was amazed at how close I got on The First Shot!
That gave me confidence, but I needed another tele.
My Neighbor refused to lend me his after I told him what happened to mine. So I started shooting at a tree in my backyard.
Eventually it fell over and slightly crushed my neighbor’s fence, and ruined his wife’s flower garden.
His pitbull got out through the hole in the fence and bit a leashed poodle that was prancing by on it’s way to the
Piccadilly Kennel Club Dog Show, where it was highly favored.
The lady walking the poodle sued my neighbor for, Loss of Earnings, Loss of Dog, and Severe Mental Unbalance.
My neighbor said the entire event was started by my shooting the tree down and allowing his dog to escape.
His wife sued me for killing her, “Prize Petunias.”
I told The Judge none of it would have happened if he had lent me his tele.
The Judge surprised me by agreeing.
He surprised me further by saying the chain of events started by my shooting an arrow into the tele, and ruled in favor of everyone but me, and ordered me to find another place to practice.
I find it a bit ironic how I always seem to be The Fall Guy.
I never realized The Olympics was so difficult, but I persevered.
Finger exercises are allowing me to release arrows with almost no wobble, and I have devised several mind games to psyche out my opponents.
I will walk up with crooked arrows in my quiver, wearing a black patch over one eye, to give me an “evil” look like a pirate.
There has never been an ambidextrous archer in the Olympics, so I will become the first by wearing the patch over either eye.
Unbenounced to everyone the patch will include a hidden microscopic camera that will give me crystal clear magnified vision.
When they see a skinny, unfit archer, with no muscles, and a homemade bow, crooked arrows and an eye patch, all of my adversaries will be full of one thing…over confidence.
I should be able to win a medal.
I mean it’s not like I’m going up against Robin Hood.
Here we go Penwose, here we go!
