As usual.

So, I sent my property taxes in last month as usual.
A few weeks ago, just for the halibut, I checked my checks after getting a notice my electric bill had not been paid.

According to my bank the check had not been cashed…along with my taxes. Two checks Lost in the Mail!

I think what happens is when my regular mailman is irregular, and someone covers for him, that replacement looks at the outgoing mail and thinks, “I’ll just throw this stuff away!”
The problem is, we never know when the regular guy is off because of fluctuating days?

So I call the County Tax People. They say they are heavily taxed and it may take awhile?
I suggested less taxes.
They hung-up.
By the fifth try, (I was ready to try a Fifth,) I waited for a Real person. I think he was real, he sounded real, but when I asked him personal questions he did not respond?

He got my file and checked, No Check!
“Are you sure about that?”
“I’m positive!”
“Only fools are positive.”
“Are you sure about that?”
“Ha Ha…Nice try!”

So my check was floating around out there in some dark dank alley with my finances in limbo, (which is better than I can do.)

I wrote another check and sent it off.
I remember I was talking on the phone with my brother.
“I just mailed the check and my mailman keeps riding around my neighborhood like he’s lost?”
“Maybe That check will be lost?”

I crossed my fingers as best as I could, but it’s always hard on the hand with 4 ½ fingers.

Time Passed!
Friday I get a letter from The County Tax Collector?
It was for Non-Payment of taxes. It said, “Do Not Panic!” They were coming to take my house.
I don’t know how they expect to accomplish that without me panicking?

So today I Calmly looked at my bank account…

Their Check Was Cashed!

Now I will calmly watch The Steelers.
