POOR ELIN

I’m sorry. I know I’ll be punished for saying this. I'll probably go to hell... But, I’ve been reading my sports page. There’s a big article receiving top billing. WOODS’ EX-WIFE ENDS SILENCE. Yeah, Right! Poor Elin!!!! And it’s not to excuse Tiger’s behavior, but she goes from the lowly nanny of a second tier professional Swedish golfer, (who’s biggest claim to fame is that he plays golf with the bill of his cap turned up and that he was the one who introduced her to Tiger Woods) to become the wife of the most famous and wealthy athlete of the last decade. She marries the man considered by many to be the best golfer in the world, certainly during the last 15 years, if not in the history of the game; A man who has the largest endorsement contracts from all the largest companies and a man who makes over a hundred million dollars a year. She marries him and becomes world famous, a world traveler, (wealthy beyond anyone else’s wildest dreams) and the mother of two beautiful children, all because of this man.
After a few years, she discovers he’s been cheating on her (repeatedly we’re told) and like approximately 50% of the women and men of the world, or at least here in the United States, she becomes a divorcee. Unlike the largest majority of the other divorcé’s she is still wealthy beyond reason,,,,, after the divorce! “I’ve been through hell,” she tells People magazine.
Does anyone think; that if Tiger had been just any other black man in America; grinding out a meager living; never having appeared in the sports pages; never having appeared on the cover of every sport related magazine; and many more not related to sports not only in America, but around the world; if he were a black man not owning his own plane and not being world renowned and filthy rich and the best at what he does; does anyone believe that this beautiful, blonde, Swedish, “Nanny” would have selected that black American as her intended target?
Not on your life!
You might just as well change her last name from Nordegren to Kardashian. Has a certain familiar ring to it, doesn’t it? She seeked fame and fortune. She got both…. the easy way, on the coattails of a famous black American athlete. Still a familiar ring?
Poor Elin. She got exactly what she deserved and a hell of a lot more. There are probably at least 10 million beautiful “natural” blondes in America who would trade places with her in a heartbeat. And probably at least one more Kardashian.

ADENDUM:
ADDENDUM: To those of you who have commented about this article…… Going in, I realized my comments were more than a bit harsh. I had just read my sports page and they seemed to be recommending her for Sainthood. I was trying to point out that there are millions of ladies, probably many of them more deserving, who did not come through their divorces in the great shape that she did. (Men too) The article that I read was so top heavy on “POOR ELIN” that it got my "dander" up. Yes, she was wronged, but she's not the first, won't be the last and probably, just probably, came out of the whole experience better than anyone else ever has. We all thought that Tiger was so noble. Well guess what, he's not. Was that really such a big surprise? Wealthy athletes, black or white, suddenly come into all this money and "respect" and the biggest majority of them just do not handle it well. That’s a real understatement in Tigers case, but I wasn't commenting about him. That line is just too damn long.
