Everyday bad things happen and unfortunately at times, bad things happen to us. Our initial reaction most often is, “I’m a good person, why in the world is this happening to me?” However, we should stop to consider, that maybe there is a reason we are going through this particular trial or torment.
God does not give us more than we can bear, he is perfectly aware of our feelings, but he may want to teach us something so that we can help or be an example to someone else. God knows our weaknesses and he will always strengthen us in those areas that we need it most.
Don’t see your trial as hard as it may be, as an evil that is done to you, don’t cast blame, don’t hate, don’t ask why, just trust and believe that God knows what he is doing and he will work it out.
Job in the Bible faced a very difficult time, he lost all his wealth, he lost his ten children whom he loved and prayed for daily and he was even stricken with a disease. In a twinkle of an eye, his life as he knew it was gone. His wife told him to curse God and die (Job 2:9). Can you imagine the one person whom you thought would comfort you, gives you that sort of advice? His friends even tried to convince him that his life was not inline with God, and that was the reason this evil came upon him.
In all of this, Satan wanted to prove to The Almighty that the only reason that Job loved and praised him so much, was due to the blessings that God bestowed upon him and because God protected him. However God in his wisdom gave Satan permission to harm Job, but Job stood up and he continued to have faith in his Creator. He said, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD (Job 1:21).
After Job’s tribulation God blessed him more in the end than he did in the beginning. Thus it is important to keep in mind, that before Satan can harm you he must ask God’s permission. If God grants this, it’s because God knows how it will turn out. The key is to continue to trust, don’t lose your faith and do not give the devil the satisfaction that he has defeated you. Keep praising God and continue to believe, he will see you through your difficulties.
