There is a lot of work involved in planting a garden, and it all begins with choosing an ideal location and examining the soil. A plan is then made for overall design and plant selection. Some plants are seasonal and others yield or bloom year round, but all plants require the right conditions to develop.
Each seed struggles to grow and if the basic needs of soil, water and light are not provided, it simply will not germinate. During the early stages of growth, its roots will push down into the soil creating an anchor and the stem will push up towards the light. So maintenance of the garden is very important, nutrients and water need to be applied to the soil ever so often or the plants will die.
Our lives are similar to a garden, and how we choose to till the soil determines our existence. We can enhance our lives or destroy ourselves simply by our choice of lifestyle. Unless we focus our thoughts less on negativity and more on having a positive attitude, we will fall short from achieving our full potential.
God did not place us on this planet to be unproductive. We all have a purpose but the way in which we use our talents and time, set the course of our lives. Do we germinate at all, do we grow to a certain level and then die or do we grow to maturity? The real questions however are, do we want to grow to be a better person and have a better life, or do we prefer to remain trapped in darkness, covered in dirt? Of course the answer will be growth, but are we willing to do what is necessary to make it happen?
The power of growth lies within all of us, we need to be courageous, strong and determined. Nothing in this life comes easy, but when we anchor ourselves in God, believing in what we can become, we will rise above the dirt that buries us. Eventually, flowers will bloom in our lives signifying beauty in struggle, and the will to survive. Truly the end result will be what we wanted to achieve while dwelling on earth.
