Come before the Lord with head lowered and eyes closed. Deepen your concentration, drown out all disturbances for you are about to have a conversation with God. With a humble heart and open mind, covered in sackcloth and ashes, beseech God to answer your prayer, plea to him for your relief. Move in spirit and become one with the Creator so that you can feel his presence upon your life.
In prayer you will sense his righteousness and authority, be comforted and blessed, for he will rest his hands upon your shoulders. When you cannot understand your circumstance, struggles or pain, this is the opportunity to place them at the feet of Jesus and have him lift your burden, because he will take them upon himself to lighten your load.
Prayer requires faith, and faith requires strong will, for not all prayers are answered immediately, and sometimes the answer may not be what you expect. God is not a thoughtless or selfish God. He finds no humour in suffering, he does not reward evil nor does he accept bribes. He knows the heart of everyone, so ensure that your request is sincere, honourable and unbiased.
Though he knows what you are in need of, the Father still wants you to willing ask him to be in your life, to seek him out, to knock upon his door so that he can open for you not only a solution to your problem, but also the liberty to dine at his banquet table for all time, a harmonious place which is enveloped by love and grace.
The Lord has spoken
My child, come before me in your time of need,
Tell me what ails you; express to me your woes.
I am listening attentively; my arms are outstretched to embrace you.
I will dry every tear from your eyes and I will bring you peace.
You have not been abandoned for I am with you,
I will deliver you; I will make you whole.
Take my hand so I may lift you up unto myself, to protect you.
And in prayer
Dear God, I am brought low.
I have strayed at times to follow my own way,
Though I have tried in vain, I cannot find a resting place.
I ask that you forgive me for my wrong doings,
And I pray that you will open my eyes,
To see the path that leads to my deliverance.
I need your guiding spirit, fill me with patience, peace and love.
Heal me Father, for I am a wounded soul.
