What has happened to the moral character of the United States? What is in store?

Growing up in the 50s and 60s my character was formulated by the fight for civil rights, the Viet Nam war, the assassination of John F. Kennedy, Robert Kennedy and Martin Luther King. It was also influenced by America’s landing of men on the moon. I remember the horrible hangings and murders of Civil Rights Freedom Riders, the shootings of Black Students in a small college as well as the fire bombings of Black Churches resulting in the deaths of children and soldiers escorting children to school though a corridor of hate inspired white racist. And guess what? Nothing and I mean nothing has changed. In fact our society has deteriorated even more with institutional racism and hatred becoming mainstream and racist acts which should never be tolerated becoming normal and even encouraged by an ignorant self serving bigot that a dumbed down segment of the United States actually got elected as president.

A huge spike in child killings and torture is occurring from California to Florida and many times committed by parents and grandparents in orgies of brutality and cruelty. Why? What has happened to America’s morals? Why are more and more children committing suicide due to the constant bullying suffered at the hands of cruel children? In addition the daily stories of horrendous acts against animals is also growing. A sign of a societies moral decay.

The Religious Right, while stating that they are for life and freedom want to abolish abortion but refuse to lift s finger to help raise those children-instead striving to eliminate the necessary programs that provide health care, education and sustenance. The Big Business interests in the government wish to destroy all environmental safe guards including allowing arsenic and other toxins in the nations water supply under the guise of promoting job growth. This week it’s the removal of the Clean Air Act—not because it interfers with commerce (we all know that alternative energy is where jobs will be in the future which is also why the coal industry is failing)—but because President Obama fought to put the Act in place. Same reason that “Obama Care” has been under the gun among Republicans and the president. Trump and his lackys don’t care that Obama Care was and is extremely popular among Americans it simply must be eliminated. Obama Care certainly needs to be “fixed”, which would be far easier but Trump only wants to “repeal and replace” it even though his Republican Controlled government hasn’t been able to do so—after 8 years of complaining.
Trump is anti woman as seen (and heard), he is anti children, and anti environment. He doles out disaster aid depending on the race of those affected. How many believe that Texas and Florida received the same aid and attention that Puerto Rico is now receiving? Perhaps a few paper towels tossed in the crowd is enough for the Republican base but not for people without electricity, water, food or safety. It’s a travesty and a crime! When the mayor on San Juan pleads for assistance she is said to be “politicizing” the situation and being anti-Trump.

Trumps history of lying and his desire to change established history through his tweets is indicative of his narcissistic sociopath nature where he measures success through crowd size and ratings. He rages against “fake news” but is the largest contributor of false stories. He is incompetent, untrustworthy and dangerous. He is most likely treasonous as well.

This government has become a laughing stock around the world (just watch the reactions of world leaders when Trump speaks in front of them with all of the eye rolls and snickers). It has also succeeded in putting the world on the edge of catastrophe with Trumps irrational desire to go to war. Not conventional war either but a truly irresponsible conflict that will result in the deaths of millions. Perhaps Trump’s place in history will be that of a madman who has the deaths of millions on his hands and the end of modern civilization. This outcome is not acceptable for me. America is no longer a nation looked upon as the intellectual and altruistic leader of freedom. It is now a land of hate building walls to keep people out (and in?) with a “me first”, “only me” nation of ignorant self serving troglodytes. Trump must be removed from office before the world perishes.
