What is the Role of the Christian Woman? How do you use your influence? When times are tense, do you use your influence to calm things down?

This is one of my June 2000 Articles. This was first published on African American - Black websites. The Role of The Black(All) Christian Women In Such Times As This (Read Esther 4:14) The message of Esther 4:14 speaks some important truths to this Church Life. As you recall, Esther was an orphaned child(if you are motherless you can truly know how she felt). She was Jewish and with other Jewish people, she lived in captivity under a Persian Rule. Esther became queen of Persia. In our targeted scripture (Esther 4:14) we hear the words of Mordecai as the appeals to Esther to use her power and influence to save her people. I believe that the message to Esther is a message to us for our times. What is the Role of the Christian Woman? First, the role is to be a Light Bearer of the time as Esther was a Light Bearer of her times. As a Light Bearer the Christian Woman lets her life shines. She is a woman of true Christian Character exemplifying daily Christ's redemptive work in her. The light that shines, illuminates other lives. It is a Light that comes from the redemptive chambers of the soul. It is a beauty that comes from holiness. As a Light Bearer, the christian woman is sensitive to the times she lives in. She seeks to do what Paul said in Ephesians. She seeks to redeem the times. This means that she works to claim back the time for our God. She is not idle for idleness is a handmaid of SATAN. The Christian Woman works the works of Righteousness while it is still day, for she knows that the night will come when no man, or woman can work. Secondly, the role of the Christian Woman must be able to use her influence for good of others such as her children. Mordecai reminded Esther that God had a plan for her life. Who knows but that God brought her to the throne for such a time as this. Let me ask a searching question. How do you use your influence? When times are tense, do you use your influence to calm things down? Remember, we will be held accountable for how we have used our influence. Third, the Christian Woman must heed to sound doctrine. Esther listened to words of Mordecai. She didn't get so full of herself because she was queen not to hear the truth. Upon heeding the instruction of Mordecai, Esther called for a fasting and praying time. She knew that whatever would be accomplished, it must be done by the power of the Mighty God. If our homes are to be saved, if our communities are to be saved, if our children are to be restored------We must pray without ceasing! Don't let the TV, newspapers tell you who you are.
