This was my very first Article on AD as it is nice nice to say goodbye to the bitter past.

When you are young it is suppose to be the best time of your life to share with all your friends, although sometimes someone can come along and change your whole world. They can make you smile and laugh, as you share special moments.

Suddenly your in a cloud and happier then you ever imagined, as this new wonderful person had brought much sunshine into your world daily. Watch out though, as they can also break your heart and many along the way. Now your once happy and bright days have turned quickly into gloomy, as the table had turned. Soon you are on a rocky path and your life had turned into an emotional roller coaster and filled with much sorrow. You are wondering how this could ever have happen from the one person that had brought so much joy into your life that they are now destroying.

You hope, will things ever get better and want the deep hurt to vanish, as sad to say, sometimes things can become worse. Since there are innocent little lives involved in this daily anguish and something that one does not want their children to ever know or see, as it can become impossible though.When you have opened the closet door to find you’re oldest hiding in fear and tightly embracing the youngest who is saying, “Daddy’s killing mommy.”

Your heart aches and not just for yourself but the children to witness. Especially, as they will observe much more heartbreak down the road of verbal and physical abuse.

To their own mother taken out of the home on a stretcher right before their weeping eyes. Furthermore, eyes becoming large watching daddy play ball with another child right across the street from their own home, as he is involved with the mother, a neighbor. Little hearts have sure become broken, as they cry and carry on, what is daddy doing to us, why?

You are speechless and devastated at this point and things start to turn for the worst and constantly a living nightmare. Finding the family dog with a bloody nose to even discovering a pillowcase in the trash can with dead baby kittens.

Then many hearts are completely shattered, as one little child has suffered so much and tried to take their own life at only seven years of age. Everything had turned upside down, as it reached the ugly parts and there were many. One is skipping school often and even brought home in a cop car wasted, as another moves out at sixteen and you are soon becoming a grandmother.

Now, after all that you have endured and very hard, it is time to stand strong and take full control and simply pick up the pieces to your broken heart. Knowing there is always hope and life is what we make it. So turn that table around, as there is light at the end of the dark tunnel and reach for it. Soon you will come to find that the broken hearts have truly mended and the sun is shining brightly once again.
