A follow-up to the article: "Is this a Christian thing to do?"

Dear readers, Islam is not responsible for what’s happening in the world today, just as Christianity can not be held responsible for the actions of its adherents. I tried to bring that point home in the article “Is this a Christian thing to do?”

I said then, and I will say it again, no one blamed Christianity or labeled that religion when one of its followers (Bush) ordered the world's mightiest army to invade a weak sovereign nation to kill its inhabitants and destroy its history. No one blamed Christianity when Christians built naked human pyramids out of the defeated captives of war.

No one blamed Christianity when Hitler incinerated 6 million Jews. And no one blamed the Christian West when it planted the seeds of hatred in the Middle East with the creation of the Zionist State in the midst of peace-loving Jews, Christians and Muslims.

The man who called Sharon a man of peace is sitting in the highest seat of your nation. Yet no one blames either Judaism or Christianity.

Now, I am asking, why does the Western world blame Islam for the actions of a few angry people? What has Islam got to do with these people's reactions to Zionist and American tyranny and invasions?

You talk about individuals who strap bombs around their bodies, but have you ever taken the trouble to find out what exactly it means to be a slave under the foot of a cruel foreign occupier?  

You talk of Palestinian suicide bombers but have you ever wondered about the fate of one American young woman whose only fault was that she took upon herself to put herself in the shoes of a Palestinian? I ask you did Rachel live to tell her tale of horror as her hands flailed to stop the menacing bulldozer?

 You talk of Palestinian suicide bombers but have you ever wondered about the fate of the 1000 Palestinians made homeless in just 2 days by these same American-made  bulldozers?

Readers, your government has lied to you about Iraq. Your government supports Israel in its injustices against the Palestinian people. Your Media lies to you about Palestine, it will keep distorting facts on the ground to keep you in a state of ignorance, and it will keep lying to you about Islam and Muslims if you don’t open your eyes and see things for yourself. Rachel took matters into her own hands, she headed straight for Palestine and you all know where that had landed her, under the wheels of a Zionist driven America-made bulldozer.  

And no, Muslims are not declaring Jihad on non-Muslims. It is against the tenet of Islam to force to  Islam on anyone. This is a ridiculous notion and shows just how ignorant people are about Islam .

And no, it is not okay to take life unjustly, nor is it okay to kill innocents in Iraq and Palestine.

Islam teaches us to be kind and tolerant. It teaches us to honor our Maker and serve His creation. Islam teaches us to treat others as we would have others treat us, to honor our parents, to show kindness to our old and the young and to honor our guests. Non-Muslims who live in close proximity with Muslims (under normal conditions) would tell you that.  

Every human being is a precious product of Allah, and has a right to his life, to his home and to his honor, a point that seems to escape the Bushs and Sharons of this world.  

I am not George Bush, nor am I a Sharon. I believe in justice. I believe in the equality of all humans. I believe all blood to be sacred, not just American and Jews, but also that of Arabs and others.  And most importantly, I believe in Allah and consider all life sacred. Do not take my word for it, consult the sources of Islam, check out the Qur'an. 

But we do have a problem here and it needs solving. This problem is not going away if we continue to blame Islam and badmouth its pure teachings, all the while we allow others to force us to live in a fool’s paradise.

In an earlier post (article) "How to Eradicate Terror" I tried to tackle the issue of Terrorism. It is a layperson’s view and should not be taken as a serious study, but I hope it will convey the message all the same. I’d very much appreciate if you could go back to it, re-read it and reflect on it.
