There Are No Dress Rehearsals For Life Every day is an opening performance

It’s a cliché, but it is true . Life is not about practice runs and waiting for an audience or reviews.

Every day is the opening performance. No matter the audience or the critics, be your very best. Not only is it all you can be, but it is everything you need to be.

You have the lead role in the story of your life. Every day needs to be a command performance, for no one else other than you. But who do you make your audience? Who do you allow to critique your life? Whose reviews do you allow to affect your life? Do you listen to your inner self and know that at the end of the day you have done the very best you could have, with the information and experience that you had at hand. Or, do you allow others to de-value your journey?

Look at the people who are nearest to you, relatives, friends, associates.

Who amongst them are positive influences, are your cheer squad in life. Who will give you honest assessment but not judge. Who believe in all your attempts, regardless of success or failure?

Who amongst them are negative influences? Consider their conversations and attitudes, do they bring your energy lower, or bring you down in order to make themselves feel better?

Both the positive and the negative will have something to teach you. That does not mean that you need to continue to co-create journeys with negative influences. The Choice is Yours.

You can choose to distance yourself from those who do not empower and encourage your life journey. You can choose to move towards those who are a positive influence, perhaps leading or mentoring you along the way. Or, you can choose to give your power away constantly and without regard for your own self -worth.

There are no dress rehearsals in life – so are you the leading person, or are you someone else’s understudy? The choice is yours. Don’t just make a good one, make a great one!
