REAP (Research, Education, Action and Policy) is sponsoring the Food for Thought Festival on Saturday, September 25, 2010 from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard just one block of the Madison Square.
The keynote speaker will be Chef Ann Cooper speaking on her effort to improve school lunches in America. She will be speaking at 10 am and will also be available to sign copies of her books following the presentation.
Local chefs will also participate in a School Lunch Showdown at 11 a.m. and at Noon there will be a Canning and Preserving Demo by Judy Pincus, a Master Preserver.
REAP will also sponsor a food tent with samples from many well known Madison restaurants including: L’Etoile, the Madison Club, LaFortuna, Crema, Dayton Street Grille, Monty’s Blue Plate Diner, Beans and Cream Coffee House and many others.
Other events include a Kids Activity Tent and a Food for Thought raffle.
