How numbers affect my 'success'

Mamatadidi (West Bengal) was stuck with 'talaa' (level) and degree (allegedly unverified credentials). I am stuck with my numbers.

Those who believe in astrology, the number theory is different; and is often based on date, time and place of birth. Persons like me are stuck with other kinds of numbers --- except my age, all other numbers in my life are consistently low. Cash is low, weight is low; pressure usually low, (though can be high at times); only temperature can be high once in a while. Then take the number of pages in my CV, the number of years of 'substantive experience', the number of students, the number of publications, the number of projects, the number of copyrighted books, the number of invitations, the number of conferences attended in past five years,  and finally the number of girl friends. Prof. CNR Rao would say that my CV cannot be longer than half-a-page.The experience I have (or claim) is insignificant and cannot earn a fee/salary (ask my senior who, I am told, is now a Dean at the UIC, USA). The number of students I claim cannot be substantiated (ask the Principals in schools and colleges in Bangalore). The number of publications is , according to many, close to one. Have you seen any book published, under my single-authorship, from any peer-reviewed national press? Have you seen me as PI in any of the high or low profile "projects"? Have seen me in any gathering, except as a janitor, as a welcome invitee? Have you seen me anywhere as a lead speaker in a conference? Finally the number of girls in my name is close to zero.

Does anyone care about a nincompoop who zeroes in on loosers?
