Dr. Rajkumar Passed Away

Kannada matinee idol, the 'sarthakanama' actor, the 'annavaru' to lakhs of Kannadigas, who survived the capitivity under Veerappan, passed away on Wednesday. His state funeral took place on Thursday in Bangalore.

The "tamma's" of 'annavaru' apparently were not happy with the funeral arrangement made by the authorities; they went on a rampage damaging property, and burning scores of vehicles, many of them being police vehicles.

As the government ordered State mourning, and traders closed down shutter to show last respect to the departed, I could not find even one internet cafe to post this note on Thursday.

I intend to write on Rajkumar at my convenience elsewhere.  As I was paging through memory, I remember him playing the stereotypes that are different from the so called "Hindi-Film" stereo-types. Each genius lives and attains success through their own uniqueness --- but I like visualising Dr. Rajkumar as rajkumar, the most handsomely prince.
