Life is not a bowl of cherries nor a box of chocolates but it is like a rose; beautiful awaiting your touch so it can prick the heck out of your finger!
We all go through life with thoughts of our good luck, bad luck, how fair or unfair situations have been to us mixed with a variety of other thoughts some that can or will be spoken and others that we dare not say out loud. Today I shall delve into the spoken and unspoken thoughts that many of us may experience during times of stress and/or unpleasant times.
Over the past few weeks, ( it really feels like years, folks! ) I have discovered my own personal fan club of invisible imps. They live rent free somewhere in my home, ride in my car, eat my food, they entertain themselves by watching me pace, cuss, throw temper-tantrums and indulge in other unbecoming behavior that an intelligent adult should not have to reduce themselves to, (at least in a seemingly civilized and politically correct world...snicker, snicker.)
Now, where shall I begin? Oh, how about the entertainment center becoming one with my foot episode. It begins with a warm clear night and neighborhood clean-up being a priority. I march through my home pointing at all of the unsightly objects that must go. Ah-ha! That big, heavy entertainment center needs to go. My son and I drag the monstrosity out to the curb. After accessing the pile of debris I decide the monstrosity must lie flat so that other rubbish could be stacked on top of it. I indicate my wish to my obedient son and my wish is granted...the monster is lying right on top of my foot! After my brain cells got over the shock of the moment words that I had never even known existed swirled through my mind. My throat and my mouth felt as though they had been embalmed with super glue, so nothing slipped out.
Being the stubborn fool that I am I refused to go to the emergency room until the following day. Somehow I felt this was a cosmic joke that would be all better by morning. Wrong! By morning my foot looked like an appendage off of Jabba the Hut and felt like Jaws had taken a chunk out of it. The emergency room staff was charming and jovial they came from all areas of the hospital to gawk and impart words of encouraging humor. I felt like an idiotic celebrity...so much for my fifteen minutes of fame.
Next, my garage door got jammed and the frame was bent. I had to put my trusted and loyal Mastiff "Rocky" aka "Bear Bear" to sleep due to bone cancer. "RIP my much loved friend". I'm sure you animal lover's out there understand I had to send a shout out to Rocky in pet heaven. The starter on my car went out not once or twice but three times in less than a week. Now this is just a partial list of how my invisible imp associates show their gratitude for leeching off of my life. Ha! Ha! Ha!
The bottom line here is that no matter how much or how long the bad times invade your life, it will get better. Don't ask me when! I fuss, cuss, pray (I have some serious talks with the Man upstairs...that's probably why I get bopped in the head so much ), get mad, depressed I run the gamit of emotions and reactions to the crappy curve balls of life. But I never ever give up and I always have faith that things will get better. Life is a circle, what goes around comes around and sooner or later good will come into your life as well as bad. You have to learn from all of it. You also have to know when to turn it over to your higher power, for me that is God. No matter how bad life seems it's easier to go through when you turn it over...
