Osama bin Laden’s arrest would also be awkward to the Bush family as the bin Laden family has been doing business with them off and on for the past 25 years. The bin Laden family invested $2 million in Bush Sr.’s the Carlyle Group Company. Bush Sr. only returned the bin Laden’s money after scrutiny and pressure two months after the attacks in New York. According to a September 30, 2001 New York Times article tiled, "Fearing harm bin Laden kin fled from US" President Bush allowed a private jet to fly around the U.S. in the days after 9/11 to pick up twenty-four members of the bin Laden family and some Saudi Royals and then fly them to Paris. The FBI investigators were furious about not being able to interview the relatives of the biggest mass murderer in U.S. history.

However, a number of recent books and articles offer compelling evidence that Saudi Arabia is as deeply implicated in the 9/11 attack as Osama bin Laden who is reportedly on dialysis for kidney disease. Why have all attempts to dig deeper into the Saudi connections been blocked by President Bush? Fifteen of the nineteen hijackers came from Saudi Arabia, which is on the brink of civil war. The Saudis are the number-one suppliers of oil to the US and a large portion of the American economy is built on Saudi money. They have a trillion dollars invested in the stock market and another trillion dollars in our banks. Moving it would cause an economic crisis in the US.

The Saudi Government has devised an inconspicuous albeit generous 401(k) plan for numerous US politicians. Baer provides shocking details of retired US politicians on Saudi payrolls either serving as members on advisory boards or by occupying seats on various institutions.

Baer says the US is aware that Saudi Arabia spawns and nurtures global terrorism but ignores the fact to keep money and oil flowing between Washington and the Al Sa’ud family. The money and arms that we send to Saudi Arabia are, in effect, used to cut our throat. Were it not for Saudi funding, bin Laden would be no one.
