He is limiting aid for the EPA to cleanup 33 toxic sites near New York City and other Super Fund toxic waste sites around the country although a 2003 study found that people living near them show significantly higher rates of asthma, respiratory diseases, and cancer.

He repealed the New Source Review provision of the Clean Air Act in 2003, giving green light to polluting electric power plants. Nearly half the families in the United States already live where the air is unhealthy.

Twelve thousand of the nation’s beaches are closed as he has not tightened the regulations on sewer systems in order to protect coastal areas and delayed the regulations that would reduce acceptable levels of arsenic in our drinking water.

Concerning Mad Cow Disease: Bush has accepted the USDA’s December 30, 2003 meat safety regulation that allows individual companies to come up with their own procedures and time lines for preventing dangerous materials entering the meat supply.

He plans to use our tax dollars to build six more nuclear reactors although a single nuclear accident or terrorist hit on a nuclear plant could kill 100,000 people. He is determined to expand subsidies for the nuclear industry although future generations will be saddled with a $5.3 trillion bill for on-site monitoring of nuclear waste for more than 10,000 years just for existing reactors.

He pulled out of the Kyoto Protocol agreement on global warming ultimately signed by 178 other countries in July 2001. He reneged on our agreement with Europe to cut down on carbon dioxide emissions although we are the number one producer in the world. Global warming—the heat-trapping shroud of noxious gasses that envelopes our planet is real, and getting worse.

He cut in half a billion dollars for the EPA’s budget and cut funding on research for renewable energy sources by 50%.

He plans to reduce wetlands protected by the EPA, freeing the land for development. This will leave 20% of the country’s water unprotected and agricultural waste insufficiently regulated.

He plans to reduce fire danger in forests by thinning trees as much as 30 in. in diameter is a veiled attempt to bypass restrictions and increase commercial logging in the US’s 155 national forests.

He plans to ease the permit process to construct refineries and nuclear and hydroelectric dams, including lowering environmental standards.

He has placed profits over preservation. His administration has eliminated the special protections placed on America’s last remaining Roadless areas in our National Forests to get at public land on behalf of the oil, gas and coal industries. He has eliminated the right of citizens to comment on, appeal, or even be notified of decisions affecting our national forests. Oil, gas and coal mining companies will be allowed to drill and mine in the Greater Yellowstone ecosystem, Montana’s Rocky Mountain Front, Wyoming’s Red Desert, the Red Rock Canyon Country and other ecologically sensitive areas. The taxpayer’s timber in Alaska’s two biggest and wildest forests with hundreds of rivers and wildlife, the Tongass and the Chugach, will be for sale when the Roadless Area Conservation ban is lifted. Although research shows logging fills streams with silt and decimates wildlife. He broke his campaign promise to invest $100 million per year in rain forest conservation.

He overrode the Clinton ban by allowing snowmobiles to operate in Yellowstone National Park in spite of opposition by the park-service and 80% of the public because it creates pollution, noise and disturbs wildlife.

He reversed the mammal protection act that will allow the sonar systems on submarines to bust the eardrums and kill whales and dolphins during submarine training programs in sensitive areas.

The 2003 federal deficit is $401 billion—breaking the previous record of $290 billion. The Treasury department projected even larger deficits in coming years totaling more than $44 trillion.

Yet Bush still plans a $600 billion people-to-Mars program which would increase the federal deficit and ultimately raise taxes, cut healthcare benefits, education spending, military reinforcement and poverty reduction. It would be the single most non-wartime undertaking in U.S. history.

Since Human Rights Organizations see Saudi Arabia as a worldwide sponsor of terrorism and rated it as a more repressive regime than Iraq most other countries realized Bush wanted a U. S. military base in Iraq because it has the second largest oil field in the world.

Bush intended to get America into the war with Iraq long before the 9/11 attacks and lied to the American people in making a case against Iraq. He invaded Iraq on false pretenses about weapons of mass destruction and deceived the American public and Congress and disregarded the opinions of our allies. The war on Iraq has more to do with oil, money and power than with ending terrorism or enhancing homeland security.

He will do everything in his power to maintain military supremacy. He is the first U.S. President to order an unprovoked, pre-emptive war and the military occupation of a sovereign nation. He did so against the will of the United Nations, the majority of the U.S. citizens, and the world community.

Bush has taken a nation that in the wake of 9/11 enjoyed nearly universal sympathy and support, and through his wars and threats to increase our "star war" defense system turned us into a nation almost universally despised.

Bush gave the Taliban $43 million of taxpayer’s money in May 2001 when they agreed to ban all poppy cultivation and join America’s "War on Drugs." This made the price of stockpiled heroine go up and the Taliban became richer.

He withdrew the U.S. from the World Court of Law and broke more international treaties than any President in U.S. History. He rejected an international accord to enforce the 1972 treaty banning germ ware fare and defied United Nations human rights agreements, resulting in the United Nations removing the U.S. from the Human Rights Commission. He is the first President in U.S. history to have the U.S. removed from the Commission.

He has set the all-time record for the most people worldwide to simultaneously protest him in public venues (15 million people), shattering the record for protest against any person in the history of mankind.

He is the first President in U.S. history to have a majority of Europeans (71%) view his presidency as the biggest threat to world peace and security. Ken Livingston, the mayor of London, describes him as "the greatest threat to life on this planet" and said, "the policies he is initiating will doom us to extinction."

Bush started a new Cold War with Russia and China and cut off any hope of reducing tensions with North Korea.

Bush’s alliance with the Sharon government has allowed the peace process in the Middle East to crumble resulting in some of the worst slaughter since he became President.

His Patriot Act allows the detention of people without their rights. The government rounded up hundreds of Arab-American and other non-U.S. citizens and suspects after 9/11 and threw them in prison cells without letting them have contact with their family or a lawyer for months. Their First amendment right to speak, their Fourth amendment right to protect themselves from an unlawful search and seizure, their Sixth amendment right to an open trial by jury were all violated. However, the law upheld the their Second amendment right to own an AK-47. Such is the power of the National Rifle Association as the Bush administration is beholden to them.

Bush set the record for fewest number of press conferences of any President since the advent of television.

After publicly refusing to take a stand on the Trent Lott comments, he is filing briefs with the Supreme Court in an attempt to undermine the University of Michigan's attempts to create diversity within their student body.

He reduced by 86% the Community Access Program, which coordinated care for people without health insurance among public hospitals, clinics, and other health care providers—43.6 million Americans do not have medical insurance.

His Medicare prescription drugs bill is good for drug companies. The law prohibits the federal government from negotiating drug prices, ensuring that drug prices will continue to rise, while benefits will be fragmentary. He is trying to crack down on Americans getting cheaper prescription from Canada.

He cut $15.7 million from programs dealing with child abuse and neglect and cut $200 million from the Childcare and Development grant, a program that provides childcare to low-income families as they are forced from welfare to work.

He has cut back on family planning programs at home and abroad and has cut health care benefits for war veterans. He supported a cut in duty benefits for active duty troops and their families—in war time.

He has neglected our schools. More than $16 billion has been cut since its inception, and his 2004 budget cuts vital programs like dropout prevention, teacher training and class reduction. His budget leaves the Act under funded by $9 billion in 2004. He is trying to cut back on student loans and State and community college tuition has soared in 49 states.

He cut funding for public housing by $60 million and $39 million for libraries and funding for the Girls and Boys Club of America programs.

In his first year in office, over 2 million Americans lost their jobs. As of December 2003 over three million people had lost jobs—a 49-percent increase in unemployment during his tenure. Unemployment remains between 5 and 6%. American corporations and factories continue to move abroad—2.5 million manufacturing have been lost and over $200 million from workforce training programs for dislocated workers have been cut.

Americans work harder while their wages are stagnant—or in decline. He is determine to cut wages further by cutting back on overtime and with no additional compensation for longer days worked.

He set an economic record for the most private bankruptcies filed in any 12-month period and an all-time record for the most foreclosures in a 12-month period and the biggest drop in the history of the U.S. stock market. His 2002 tax cut excluded families making $26,000 a year or less including one million military families with children.

Roughly 13,000 families (.01 percent) in the U.S. control the equivalent wealth of the poorest twenty million and their income increased by 157% and middle class America’s increased by 10% in the past 20 years.

He is proud that the members of his cabinet are the richest of any administration in U.S. history. His "poorest millionaire," Condoleeza Rice, has a Chevron oil tanker named after her.

He set the record for most campaign fund-raising trips by a U.S. President. He is the all-time U.S. and world record-holder for receiving the most corporate campaign donations. His largest lifetime campaign contributor, and one of his best friends, Kenneth Lay, presided over the largest corporate bankruptcy fraud in U.S. History, Enron. His political party used Enron private jets and corporate attorneys to assure his success with the U.S. Supreme Court during his election decision. He has protected his friends former Chairman Ken Lay and CEO Jeff Skilling of Enron against investigation or prosecution although thousands of Enron employs not only lost their job but much of their life savings.

He presided over the highest gasoline prices and the biggest energy crisis in U.S. history and refused to intervene when corruption involving the oil industry was revealed.

He changed the U.S. policy to allow convicted criminals to be awarded government contracts and appointed more convicted criminals to the administration than any President in U.S. history.

The Bush Administration is rolling back the progress made in the 20^th century in every area. He has dismantled our system of environmental protections, accumulating a huge national deficit and invaded and occupied two countries at a continuing cost of over one billion dollars per week. He has dismantled our civil rights and liberties, destroyed many of our social programs, has not addressed the weak economy and high unemployment rate, and allowing more children to slip into poverty, ignorance and despair.

He has done little to promote peace, justice, freedom, human rights or try to negotiate settlements or alleviate suffering at home or abroad. Bush has yet to learn that he cannot beat terrorism by blowing up countries.
