The sacred texts of most religions speak of international chaos, distress of nations, famine and geological and celestial anomalies. They warn of difficult times before the earth enters the golden years of harmony and light.

Many cultures, religions and "persons of vision" prophesied great natural and manmade catastrophes for humankind and the earth around the year 2000 AD.

The Hopi Indians referred to this time as the great cleansing.

The sacred texts and writing of the Christians, Hindus, Hopi Indians, Egyptians, Mayans, Islam, Jews and other religions speak of international chaos, distress of nations, famine and geological and celestial anomalies. They all warn of difficult times before the earth enters the golden years of harmony and light.

American healer and clairvoyant Edgar Cayce (1877-1945) accurately predicted the Wall Street crash in 1929, foresaw World War II, the rise and fall of Hitler, India’s independence from Britain, the rebirth of the Nation of Israel, the collapse of the Soviet Union and Communism and the existence of Planet Pluto.

Cayce’s future prophetic visions include a dramatic rise in the level of the oceans, an increase in natural and manmade disasters and World War III.

Cayce’s prediction of a shift in the earth’s magnetic poles appears to be imminent. He said in a 1932 reading, "There will be upheavals in the Arctic and Antarctic that will cause the eruption of volcanoes in the torrid areas, and pole shift. There will be the shifting then of the poles, so that where there has been those of a frigid or the semi-tropical will become the more tropical, and moss and fern will grow."

Ruth Mongomery, another prophet, also saw visions of a polar shift. She said, "Practically no coastal areas will be safe during the shifting of the earth's poles because of the tidal waves. Many people will not survive this shift, but others will, because after a period of churning seas and frightful wind velocities, the turbulence will cease, and those in the north will live in tropical clime, and vice versa."

There is now scientific, geological and historical evidence to confirm that the earth’s poles have reversed in the past and caused cataclysmic upheavals.

The scientists in the PBS NOVA television program titled "Magnetic Storm" discussed how the rapid weakening of the Earth’s magnetic shield and the fluctuation of the north-south polarity could lead to a pole shift in the near future.

Moira Timms in her book "Prophecies and Predictions" says Historical records also lend support. Egyptian priests, told Herodotus (Enterpe 142) that the sun has 'four times risen out of his usual quarter', and that he had 'twice risen where he now sets and twice set where he now rises.’

The constellations in the night sky are in reverse along the eastern ceiling of the tomb of Senmut, the architect to the Egyptian Queen Hatshepsut, in the Great Pyramid.

Papyrus Anastasi, IV, Magical Papyrus Harris and Papyrus Ipuwer refer to the Earth being turned upside down, the seasons reversed, time disordered and that the sun failed to rise.

Sara LV of the Koran speaks of the Lord of two Easts and of two Wests.

The Talmud says seven days before the deluge the Holy One changed the primeval order, the sun rose in the West and set in the East. (Tractate Sanhedrin).

Dannion Brinkley and Ned Doughery, two contemporary American prophets and authors were given visions of the 9/11 attack on America a few months before it happened. Brinkley was told the 9/11 events were a spiritual wake-up call to examine our lives and priorities as citizens of earth. He also foresees the fall of America as a world power, a collapse of the world economy and World War III.

Doughery the author of "Fast Lane to Heaven" was told in a vision that the world could be saved not by world leaders but by prayer groups around the world. A Lady of Light said the fate of humankind rests on our ability to change direction in accordance with God’s plan.

Howard Storm, a prophet and author of "My Descent into Death" asked the Light Beings if the United States would continue to be the leader of the world. He was shown the way things would be on earth around 2185.

The light beings said, "The United States has been given the opportunity to be the teacher for the world, but much is expected of those to whom much has been given. The United States has been given more of everything than any country in the history of the world and it has failed to be generous with the gifts. If the United States continues to exploit the rest of the world by greedily consuming the world's resources, the United States will have God's blessing withdrawn. Your country will collapse economically which will result in civil chaos. Because of the greedy nature of the people, you will have people killing people for a cup of gasoline. The world will watch in horror as your country is obliterated by strife. The rest of the world will not intervene because they have been victims of your exploitation. They will welcome the annihilation of such selfish people. The United States must change immediately and become the teachers of goodness and generosity to the rest of the world.

Today the United States is the primary merchant of war and the culture of violence that you export to the world. This will come to an end because you have the seeds of your own destruction within you. Either you will destroy yourselves or God will bring it to an end if there isn't a change."

Doughery’s visions for the future include: the collapse of the U.S. government and banking institutions and a shift in the earth’s axis that will cause massive earth quakes, volcanic and tidal disasters.

Michael H. Brown shared a similar vision to Doughery during a near death experience in an article titled "Near-Death Prophecy." He said the angels, "made it very clear to me that God had given this country the greatest blessing of any people in the history of the world… And God gave us all this so that we could be the instruments of God's light in this world, and we are not instruments of light. In other countries people see us as purveyors of exploitation, military might, and pornography… We were put in this world to be stewards and live in harmony with His creation and one another and we don't realize the important spiritual consequences of what we do when we raise a child in a faithless society...The angels showed me that what would happen is that people would begin robbing the grocery stores, hoarding goods, and killing one another for gasoline and tires, and as a consequence everything would break down and would end up in chaos.

Elaine Durham’s prophetic visions aired on a TV documentary titled "Ancient Prophecies" said unless America makes better choices it will be completely divided by a large body of water. A large part of both eastern and western shorelines will be lost. Icebergs and polar ice caps will melt significantly. America will be ravaged by earthquakes, hurricanes, fierce storms, massive fires burning, in huge areas of the country…The western coastline will change causing California, Oregon, and Washington to become submerged. Much of the eastern coastline will be gone, though not as bad as the western coastline. The southern half of Florida will be under water. The oceans of the entire world will rise significantly.’

The prophets say the future of humanity is not cast in stone. Apocalyptic prophecies are warning from God that can be stopped. When enough people change the prophecy can be diverted. A prophecy is considered successful when it raises human consciousness and diverts the outcome.

Timms says the future may look bleak, desperate even, but there is light at the end of the tunnel. We should not think of the future as "the end-of the world" but remember that the destruction is a healing crisis that follows the natural order of the cosmic progression. Cosmic time is divided into seven periods of hundreds of thousands of years called a Yuga. At the end of each Yuga, all human souls graduate from the Earth plane. The seventh Yuga, is the most negative of all the cycles. Life on Earth is a school. The souls who fail to learn their karmic lessons before the "graduation" will be held behind after the transition to populate yet another Yuga at another time in the future where they will 'do it again and again until they get it right'.

Timms recommends we not focus on the stormy physical details of the coming rite of passage but see it as an occasion for the advancement of humanity as spiritual beings, the renewal of the planet and the evolution for the solar system.

She recommends we focus upon the wider context, the "master plan" as we prepare for our future physical needs. Also to not judge others, to not separate people into the saved and the lost, to not be concerned with one's own salvation, but to serve others and make use of our creativity.

Cayce confirms Timms views. He said the purification of the world must happen before the New World comes. He said, "A new order of conditions is to arise; there must be a purging in high places and low; and that there must be the greater consideration of the individual, so that each soul being is his brother’s keeper. Then certain circumstances will arise in the political, the economic, the whole relationship to which a leveling will occur of greater comprehension of the need for it."

David Spangler, the author of "Revelation: the Birth of a New Age" said God told him, "I am with all. None are saved. None are lost. There is always only what I am, but I have revealed Myself to new life and new light and new truth. Those who heed me not, but follow the downward course at a human level consciousness unwind itself and enter a new cycle, they are not lost."
