Redfish Sweet & Sour
I came home from work and felt somewhat grouchy and tired. I didn’t want to eat anything. Then I felt a spicy tickle in my nose. Maureen stood in the kitchen and smiled.
“Today, I’m cooking sweet & sour fish, she said.” Not long, and I heard the fish sizzle in the oil pan, and some ten minutes later it steamed on the dinner table. Now I felt hungry, out of a sudden. What a lovely ginger and garlic smell! And the fish, little white chunks, tasted wonderful in the spicy and mild-sweet gravy. What a gorgeous meal, and healthy!
To prepare this, you need:
2 pounds of fresh Red Snapper
1 big onion
4 toes garlic
1 piece Japanese ta-hoo
3 big spoonful tomato sauce
1 big spoonful of chili sauce
1 toe fresh raw ginger
1 spoonful sugar
And that’s how you do it:
- Fry the fish in 1.5 soup spoon of olive oil. Let it sizzle until dry and cooked. Fry the ta-hoo. Cut ginger, garlic and onions.
- Remove fish from oil pan
- Use the same oil and same frying pan. Fry the onion, ginger and garlic. Add tomato sauce, chili sauce and sugar. Stir the sauce.
- Serve the fish on a china plate, and gently immerse it in the red gravy
The meal is now ready to eat! Serve it with baby gaylan vegetables and steamed rice.
Bon appetit!
