When the phone rings, a parent never knows what to expect...
From my middle daughter, it will be elation or dejection. She is either thrilled, in love, and blessed, or a dark black cloud is raining all over her walk in the park.
My son, a freshman, is calling about all the things we tried to tell him before he went off. This really concerns us. "Mom, I'm using up all my money eating out."
"Dad told you to keep track, and he'll put money in your account. But go to Wal-mart and get some supplies until the cafeteria opens up."
"Hey, Mom, I think I need my flippers. And my raquetball equipment. Oh, yeah, I forgot my printer cable, too, and my Bible."
(By now, we're wondering exactly was all that stuff he took with him?)
Sam has already rearranged his schedule, added a class, and discovered that they guys go country-and-western dancing on Friday nights. They also go to the "Big" campus football games, so he needs a sports pass.
So I'm back to my original question: when does a busy college freshman get down to STUDYING?
