This wonderful film, featuring Renee Zellweger, is as charming as Peter Rabbit.
This story opens in 1902 with Beatrix Potter attempting to sell her children's stories. The unmarried daughter of well-to-do parents, she is surrounded mostly by her artwork rather than friends.
She develops a friendship with her publisher which blossoms into a romance. Her parents interfere. Her books enchant the world, as they still do today. She subsequently finds healing in the Lake District area.
Unexpectedly, I was charmed by the story and enchanted by the countryside. Makes me want to hop a plane and roam the Lake District of England. Sam even stayed awake for the whole thing (minus ten minutes of gentle snoring). He would be willing to take me there, he says, and wants to try tea and crumptes. I will hold him to that!
