This tale unfolds well and unpredictably--not exactly a mystery, but the characters' past(s) are revealed in small pieces. "With her fragile beauty and regal bearing, the Duchess of Warneham knows how to keep her admirers at a distance. I'm on page 270, and already feel a satisfying finish blowing in like a gentle summer rain.  Yes, I've been reading too much!

It was stinky hot at the beach.  There was little to do except read and watch movies in the air conditioning.  While "NDaD" is not great literature, it's mild and entertaining and romantic and emotional.  Sort of like a gothic romance with modern liberties in seductive passages.

Until Loretta Chase and Madelaine Hunter issue their next books, I'll have to make do.
