Tracy is an American actress filming a Regency-period movie. Her co-star is a much-admired Shakespearean actor wishing to ignite a romance with her. Instead, she is drawn to Harry, Lord Silverbridge, owner of the country estate where they are filming. In addition, she begins to "see" people from generations past--whom no one else can detect, except the cat.
This is a clever, romantic twist on my favorite, the Regency romance. I happened across another book by Wolf a few weeks ago--it also centered on horses. Interesting. The storyline is fresh and different. There's humor and humanity within the pages that cheers me up. And that's what good escape reading is all about.
Additionally, someone is trying to put a period on Harry's existence. Is it the smarmy-but-goodlooking brother? The developer who covets the estate in order to build a golf course and hotel? Or an unknown person? The subplots make this a rich read without distracting too much.

After finishing this wonderful book, I realize that Silverbridge is also symbolic. There seems to be a time bridge between the present and the past at the estate.
