Play a little island music when you're painting the tropics!
For Spring Break this year, we went to Punta Cana. We found the most refreshing breeze, the best palm trees, the friendliest of people. And of course, that pristine sand and water. I wanted to bring that feeling into my classroom, so I got out the acrylics and set to work.
Skies are tricky for me. I played and painted, and am still not quite satisfied.
I found that a feather brush was best for the branches. It got to a point, though, where Julie said, "Mother! Don't do anything else to that painting." I have a tendency to embellish when it's time to quit.
