In my meditative moments I often reflect on the unfairness and injustices of Life that I see going on in the world today such as the horrific genocides of people slaughter by the thousands, innocent children lives snuffed out by man made or natural means and wonder how a "loving and caring" God can allow such atrocities to happen without lifting a finger to help .
Indeed, I was brought up to believe in a "loving and caring " God who protects and provides for all his "children" ,but when I see all the senseless slaughter(genocides)of his "his children"in various forms going on around the world, I cannot accept that a loving and caring God would allow such things to happen.
Recently a six year innocent school child was accidentally killed by a truck while crossing a street,and wondered couldn"t God the "loving Father" who "sees everything" have prevented it? An innocent,spotless child?
After viewing these and other events in life such as the recent Tsunami disaster where 150,000 people lost their lives, I wonder is this "loving and caring" God I was programmed to believe in by my Parents ,Church and other Religious Teachers is after all, real?
Honest and well written article, these are questions that I believe most people ask at some point in time. I have come to believe that everything happens for a reason, whether good or bad and that we as human beings would be incapable of learning or growing if we didn't have to endure painful tragic and turbulent times. I used to wonder why so many "good" people died and the "bad" people seemed to live forever wrecking havoc. Then I began to see that a lot of the people that sat on the fence of life trying to decide which crossroad to take were affected sometimes in a positive manner by the passing of a good soul. God put us here for a reason, some of us finish our jobs sooner than others...but we all have an impact in life and I believe that is part of God's plan.
