Paulding - Heaven has been traditionally conceived of as the perfect place for afterlife. But author Timothy Louis Baker has a unique experience to share as he talks about ascending to Heaven in flesh to witness the perfection felt in all the moments he was there.
Timothy Louis Baker, or Tim for short, of Paulding (Ohio) is the author of seven published books. In his autobiography
Where North Meets South and East Meets West (Publish America, October 2009), Tim tells about his unique, spiritual experience of transcending the worldly dimensions and finding himself in Heaven. Twenty years after the experience, Tim is open to sharing his story with the public. According to Tim, 52, it happened in 1989 in Colorado, US. He remembers the day and the moment as, “I was hitchhiking and looking for work. I happened across an old man at a country service station or general store. He put me to work for a few days and let me sleep in a ramshackle shack. I happened to be lying in bed, sometime in the first afternoon, and suddenly, instantaneously, a certain Indian girl, who had given me a ride on a day prior to the moment, appeared with me, and there was a baby child, half Indian and half White, in a basket at the end of our bed. The shanty or shack was automatically fixed up like it was live able again, which it had not been the condition of for many years from the looks of it on this earth as we know it before my Heavenly encounter. I say that because the girl and I were in Heaven.” Tim says he and the girl mated and he glanced at the child, feeling that it had been there months before in the normal way babies are born. Asked how he would describe the heaven, he says, “At the time, everything there seemed to be normal life, afterlife for there then, and I felt no particular presence at the moment. I was not in the vision long enough to eat anything or see any of the outside world but I know upon reflection that it was an absolute paradise with no evil. I imagine that geographically it was identically the same there as it were anywhere upon the earth now with the changes in eternity permitting certain restrictions as to what could and could not be feasible there. Like of course, no tornadoes, no floods, no earthquakes or no other natural disasters and calamities.” Answering how he could believe that it was heaven and not a delusion or vivid hallucination, Tim says, “When you are touching another human being while you are actually having physical contact of sexual intercourse and that person is touching you once again while the two of you are making love, it is a good indication that the experience is real. Also the sight of a baby child in a basket at the end of the bed and all of the changes of the building we were in being furnished and a sink with water running, these would necessarily be quite another positive factor that you are in reality within your mind and in real surroundings and not fascinating yourself with a delusion, a fantasy, or a hallucination.” The will of God is certainly a major point of Tim’s story and he believes it was totally in God's hands and in His power for His reasons. So why would he not share his Heavenly experience with many people for two decades? Was he afraid? I asked him. “No,” Tim replies. “I am not afraid to publicize my visit within Heaven itself by spoken word or by written word.” In fact, he did tell a few friends of his after the incident but the spiritual experience was more a sort of inner thing. He had no urge to get worldly fame or draw people’s attention. Only now as he has committed his life to writing, while doing regular maintenance work at shops, has he felt the spark of sharing his inspiring story with others and fill them with hope of moving to a perfect world in the afterlife. He says: “All I did was to get a glimpse of Heaven hidden in that paradise, so that I could come and tell everybody in this life that would listen (or read.) Nobody in Heaven will even ever know I was there in my earthly body though because nobody will ever remember this side of the earth as we are now living and experiencing. The difference of having this life at all for us as part of creation is that it will help fill our happiness both here and there in the afterlife also.” Two decades after the experience, Tim believes it has reshaped his life totally and completely. "Now I live for a spiritual reason," says he. "Besides all of my mortal normal everyday cognitive thinking, I also think with the spiritual mind. To me it is part of the rest of my life, that is inseparable from truth and reality."
