My wife died some years ago -- I can't even remember how many, exactly.  The memories are too painful. Carrying the weight of her last year among us -- in body, not in spirit -- took away most of my energy.
In the interim I have written eleven novellas -- some longer than others -- and I think it helped to get my emotion in touch with reality as well as recovering my logical thinking.  Writing allows us to get away with not having it all together.
Now I am considering the possibility of going back to my clinical practice in sexual orientation issues starting next year.  As I do not like to jump into things I did a trial run with a possible client and I found myself at-home and quite up-to-date with the clinical requirements.
I have come to the conclusion that I'm not retirement material, yet.
Of course, I'll continue writing....

Mi esposa falleció hace varios años -- no recuerdo exactamente cuántos.  Los recuerdos son demasiado dolorosos.  Además, cargar el peso de su último año con nosotros -- en cuerpo, no en espíritu -- me robó casi toda mi energía vital.
En el interin he escrito once novelas -- algunas más largas que otras -- y creo que el proceso me ayudó a re-acomodar mis sentimientos ante la realidad, a la vez que recobré mi pensamiento lógico.  Escribir nos permite manejarnos con algunas deficiencias.
Ahora estoy considerando la posibilidad de regresar a mi práctica clínica en el área de la orientación sexual desde el próximo año.  Como no me gusta lanzarme como de un trampolín a la carrera hice un ensayo con un posible cliente y pasé con buena auto-calificación.
He llegado a la conclusión de que aún no son material de jubilación completa, aún.
Y espero seguir escribiendo...
