What exactly is your stronghold in these times of uncertainty?
Do you have an anchor that is secure in this life? Is what you trust giving you joy? What exactly is your stronghold in these times of uncertainty? The only true stronghold is your faith, which is the only thing that can please God. We all need faith in order to believe. I believe in a Creator; you might believe in science and evolution. I truly believe that what is overlooked in the science community is that science itself religiously holds that "nothing can be accepted that cannot be proven in the laboratory as a fact," which means NO doubts or reservations. And yet, when you read all their papers, they use the words abundantly: "if", "seems", "analogy", "contrive", "theoretical", "presumably", "must have been", "absence of concrete evidence", "possible", "probably" etc.-- all of them representing doubts, imaginations, guesses and mere hopes. The theory of evolution and origin of the universe do not pass the test of proof, contrary to popular attitudes. In reality it needs much more faith than does the faith that God created the universe, as stated in the Holy Scriptures.
Atheists and some scientists neglect the fact that sacred Scripture and the secrets contained therein can only be discerned spiritually. Also they must be read, listened to, and understood in their context. This is too paramount a point to miss. Some things are perspicuous, some are not. If you trust in money, fame, fortune, or yourself, you are on thin ice, my reading friend. But if you ask God for faith, and you put your trust in him, then you'll have divine protection, confidence, strength, true joy, and no fears. You will never lack any good thing. Remember, a person of faith respects scientific findings which have been tested and proven as truths without any doubts, because they believe that these findings are a part of God's creation, which has a plan and PURPOSE for the honor and benefit of mankind.
I often wonder what an atheist would say about the laws of our beloved land. There are laws against murder, stealing, bearing false witness, and adultery. Why are they also in the biblical Ten Commandments? Why have they become the laws of our land? In fact, I've heard that in some countries your hand is cut off if you're caught stealing.
In order to actually own a stronghold, you must be aware of demonic audacity in this world. The passions war against us interminably, but they can be mastered. Once we obtain divine clemency through humility, then these unseen foes who work in our flesh and intellect will be crushed beneath our feet. Every soul is quickened by the Holy Spirit of God, if so allowed. In all your pursuits, make sure you get understanding. This will ensure a safe and sound stronghold for your life. The stronghold that withstands all wrong is not abstruse. It is "a walk by faith, not sight" (2 Corinthians 5: 7).
