"Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls" (Matthew 11: 28-30).

Can we be unshackled from the flesh? You bet we can! If we become humble in heart before the Lord, then we can clearly see what our real life is about and come to know what the profit is in nonmaterial things.

God Almighty is the source of all life. All the things necessary for our bodies, including the natural sex desires, are richly provided to us as long as we make an attempt to know just what our real life was designed for. Of course our life wasn't created for sexual promiscuity, carousing, or hatred. When tears come to us, know that God is near. What a paradox.

You may be sad today, and you may be facing some seemingly insurmountable crisis. God knows about it already. Do you dread to get up every morning? That is a clarion call for you to retreat inwardly to discover your real life. You don't need to be pulled to pieces by the morass of conflicting philosophies offered by this world. All you need to do to be prudent is that when you foresee evil, just hide yourself from it under the shelter of the most high God! Others will go on and suffer for it (Proverbs 22: 3). That is why your REAL life is within you, not without. The world is full of anarchy, but you don't have to be. Just be human (with a heart of flesh instead of stone) and know how Satan works. He first tempts you, and then if he succeeds, he convicts you of it, making your life hard to deal with. He wants to sift you like wheat (Luke 22: 31). You can wash away your troubles with tears, my friend, and then misfortune will be far from you.

To finish off this topic of our real life, I'd like to quote a little more. "If you love your life so much, then you will lose it" (Matthew 10: 39). On the contrary, "If you hate your life in this present world, then you will find it" (Matthew 10: 39). Please do not misconstrue . Loving the things of this world will not give you true life as it was meant to be; namely to enjoy it and have it abundantly (spiritually). But if you hate the counterfeit gems available to you in this world, then you will have this abundant life while on earth. It's like a prelude to the heavenly kingdom. Consider this: "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly" (John 10: 10). This is deep, very deep. Our real life is sort of hidden from view in this world. We bask in the resurrection; we rejoice in the spiritual things. Our real life can be summed up in this way: Praise and thanksgiving to the Lord. He gives us life, and breath, and everything. He satisfies the desire of every living thing. He helps us deal with every conflict and adversary.
