Somehow we must all find ways (temperament) to love our enemies instead of following that old notion of "an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth" (Matthew 5: 38). This, of course, is difficult at first, but it has its benefits. Of course we have laws that if broken, are litigated, and hopefully the jurisprudence of our society we live in doesn't yield to unfair or unjust rulings or downright corruption. But even if this does exist, as I have experienced it once (employment), do not remain bitter, because that produces intentions of vengeance. That's a no-no! We need instead to desire the insight to accept the things we can't change. At the same time we need the spiritual fortitude to change the things we're capable of changing. On another note, the best thing that can happen to us is that God will show us what is wrong with us. We need to ask for the discretion to perceive these things in life.

When you believe in and trust God Almighty, then you can go beyond just loving those who love you also. You will be able to resist one who seems to be evil (or might be). The eyes of God are in every place, and especially on those who thirst for righteousness. Let us not be a blind one leading another blind one. Both will fall. Look at Hebrews 13: 5. The writer writes: "for he has said, 'I will never fail you nor forsake you.' "

Believe in yourself and don't think that there is a job too big or too small for God to handle. He doesn't deal with us mortals according to our shortcomings, nor does he requite us according to our past deeds. He rather removes our sins "as far as the east is from the west" (Psalm 103: 12). Take heart, dear reader, and move on to better things; move on with a new life's journey. Trust in God alone, and you'll see as clearly as the words on this page that vengeance is his alone (Romans 12: 19-21).
