A comparison between two types of wolves.

As a part-native American I am a respecter of nature and the balanced Earth. But lately I have noticed a trend by humans on the Internet to adopt the term wolf into their nickname or web name.  The wolf, “Canis Lupus” is a predator as is the human wolf “Homo Canis Misogynist”.  Both species prey on the weak, the old and the young. When they are not hunting or sleeping they are playing.  This too fits both species.

Contrary to popular belief wolves (Canis Lupus) do not mate for life. In a normal pack only the Alpha pair normally breed, but it is not uncommon for the Alpha male to be a dud and to relinquish this duty to a Beta male. Following a good hunting season it is not uncommon for Beta females also to have litters.  The Alpha male is often challenged for leadership.  The Alpha female maintains control of the females in the pack. If an Alpha female is injured or killed, any female in the pack may move up in stature. The Alpha male really doesn’t care.  The Alpha males also seem to send the females out to do the hunting more than the males. Since most wolves are injured or killed during a hunt, this seems to be another method by the Alpha male to rotate his attention to other female wolves.  Alpha males are not the strongest males of the pack; they are just the better manipulators and planners. The Alpha male likes, in fact demands, subservience from all members of the pack, males and females. Guess it is an ego trip for him just like with the Homo Canis Misogynist.  

Canis Lupus normally kills more than he can eat often leaving behind unfinished carcasses for the scavengers; again a similar characteristic of the Homo Canis Misogynist. In every wolf pack there is also an Omega wolf.  This is normally a female, one who is the scapegoat for everything that goes wrong.  In the case of the Homo Canis Misogynist this would be the ex-wife or ex-girlfriend. 

Wolves of the Canis Lupus genus mark their territory by urination.  Thankfully the Homo Canis Misogynist does not share this trait; instead they mark their territory by beating on their chests and bragging about their prowess with the ladies.   Both of these species seem to get their kicks from being in control.

Wolves have a fear of humans, but more so, they are intelligent enough to realize that they cannot defend themselves against humans; the same with both species. When faced with a man both will back down and run. The nicknames chosen by users reveal a lot about their mentality or lack there of. While I do not advocate open season on Canis Lupus, I do consider the reduction in Homo Canis Misogynist essential for improving the gene pool.
