There are so many things that we face each day which cause us to worry. Some would say we live in such an anxiety-producing world. Today’s, devotions invite to you give all our worries to God who is well able to take care of them.

Scripture: Philippians 4:4-8

“Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done” (Philippians 4:6 New living Translation.)

Devotional Focus

I stare at the words “don’t worry,” yet it seems there is so much in life to worry about. But I as I reflect on the Scripture, I thought, “Why would God give such an instruction if his people are incapable of obeying it?” I seem to me that if the Bible says it, then it is possible for God’s people to achieve it.

Our Father is a good God and he would never tell us to do something that is impossible. Similarly, I remember the Scripture that ask: “Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?” it seems then that worrying about life’s challenges is futile. Worrying certainly won’t achieve God’s purpose for my life.

My response then is to do myself a favor and let go of the worries that are pulling me down. True “letting go,” means placing my burdens in the capable hands of my Father. Then, let him take all my cares. But I have to receive his settled peace. It is this peace that lets me know in my heart that everything will be aright in spite the circumstances. God’s divine peace will keep my heart at rest.

Today’s Reflections

Spend some time and make a list of the things that you have been worried about. One by one, give each worry on your list to God. Find a Scripture that relates to each are and use each to make biblical declarations daily.

Prayer

Father, we bring all our worries to you today. We take you at your Word and cast them all on you. Thank you for the peace that you give us in return. Keep our hearts steadfast on you, so we will continue in your peace. No matter what the situation we will trust in you Lord. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
